Laura Barnes JONES

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Laura Barnes Jones, age 90, was born March 19, 1917 and died November 6, 2007 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Harmony Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James Dexter and Cora Maud Elliot Barnes. She was married to Howard H. Jones who preceded her in death July 10, 1995. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Ray Jones; four brothers, G.L. "Coon" Barnes, Willard, Tom and James Barnes and one sister, Novella Bratcher. She is survived by one granddaughter, Laura Ann Cooley of Manchester, TN and several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007 in High's Chapel with Phillip Rowland officiating. Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
