James Calvin KNOWLES

Centertown Community resident and Dekalb County, TN native James Calvin Knowles, age 61, was born December 24, 1945 and died September 2, 2007 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A truck driver for Batesville Casket Company and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Annie Lorene Jaco Knowles. He was married November 16, 1979 to Brenda McCormick Knowles of the Centertown Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Darrell and Sandy Knowles of Smithville, TN, Becky and David Sullins of Rock Island, TN and Dena and Tom Tanner and Jerry Beaty both of the Centertown Community; seven grandchildren, Miranda and James Barkve of Tullahoma, TN, Ashley Knowles and Natasha Driver both of Rock Island ,TN; Kaitom and Drew Tanner both of the Centertown Community and Breanna and Britney Knowles both of Smithville, TN; great-grandchild, J.J. Smith of Tullahoma, TN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Altie Knowles, Donnie and Donna Kay Knowles and Melvin and Teresa Knowles all of Smithville, TN; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Stella Dyer, Linda and Steve Hale and Anita and Eddie Moore all of Smithville, TN and Faye Cole of Sparta, TN and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in High's Chapel with Michael Farr and Jeff Crips officiating. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery.
