McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native George Calvin Lytle, age 67, was born November 1, 1939 and died May 16, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a lingering illness. An employee of Cumberland Lumber, a United States Marine veteran, an avid fan of all sports and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Arlow and Thelma Horn Lytle. He was married October 28, 1966 to Wilma Faye Rice Lytle who preceded him in death February 16, 2007. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Hollis Lytle. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Jim and Sheila Winfrey, Judy and Ricky Fults, and Lisa Williams all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Wendy and Chad Cantrell, Calvin Fults, Jared Winfrey, Kiley and Katelynn Williams, Leanne Smith and Kory and Troy Lytle all of McMinnville; great-granddaughters, Emily Cantrell and Kaden Williams both of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Willie Winnett Rice of McMinnville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leroy and Barbara Rice of McMinnville, Harold and Betty Rice of Sparta, TN, William and Cindy Rice of Tullahoma, TN and Charles Rice of McMinnville; sister, Diana Knutson of Tucson, AZ; special nephew, Troy Lytle and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007 in High's Chapel with Glyn Killian officiating. Burial followed in the Doyle Cemetery in White County, TN.
