Morrison, TN resident and Warren County native Amon McCormick, Jr., age 78, was born May 15, 1928 and died February 5, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a lingering illness. An employee of Boyd Nursery, a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Amon Lewis and Wavie Marie Priest McCormick. He was married to Dorothy Jean Perry McCormick of Morrison, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Johnson of Hillsboro, TN and Nancy Briley of Dickson, TN; son, Chip McCormick of Manchester, TN; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Charles W. McCormick and Luther D. McCormick both of McMinnville and five sisters, Donnie Lee Mason of Quebeck, TN and Melvia Blair, Carolyn Buckner, Ann Blair and Linda Holder all of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in High's Chapel with George King, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the New Union Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
