Allene Barlow MCCOY

Bone Cave, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Allene Barlow McCoy, age 95, was born October 26, 1911 and died September 4, 2007 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a brief illness. A retired textile employee and grocery store clerk, a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Titus and Mary Maude Dillon Barlow. She was married to Doran Leaton "D.L." McCoy who preceded her in death October 9, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Cecil Cummings, Lillian Massey and Lector Reese; half-sister, Mary Edna Rogers and half brothers, J.T. and Powell Barlow. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Frank Stewart of McMinnville; son, Louie McCoy and Barbara Clark of Bone Cave, TN and McMinnville; nieces, Teresa and Forrest Martin of Rock Island, TN and Nadine O'Neal of Bone Cave, TN; great-nephews, Bill Martin of McMinnville, Larry and Darrel O'Neal and David and Douglas Cummings all of Ohio and Dennis Cummings of Spring Hill, TN; great-niece, Susan Cummings of California and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007 in High's Chapel with Roy Terry officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
