Nellie Irene MEEKS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Nellie Irene Meeks, age 71, was born September 22, 1936 and died December 24, 2007 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A CNA at NHC Healthcare and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Charles Herman and Lela Parlie Boren Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Odie, James and Oscar Morgan and sister Mae McBride. She was married in 1971 to Johnny B. Meeks of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Sandy Newby and Brayton and Stephanie Harris both of McMinnville; two daughters, Kim Engleman and her fiancé, Rob Gross of Howard City, MI and Johnnie Meeks of Nashville, TN; sister, Ray Mathis of McMinnville; brother, Norman Morgan of McMinnville and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 in High's Chapel with Lane Dix officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.
