Mary Ellen MELTON

Detroit, Michigan resident and Warren County native Mary Ellen Melton, age 88, was born April 4, 1918 and died January 8, 2007 at Garden City Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. A retired employee of Ford Motor Company and a member of the Assembly of God, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Josie Smith Ritchey. She was married to Glenn William Melton who preceded her in death in 1967. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Cornelia and Charles Cannon, Geneva and Eugene Szymaniak and Shari and Larry Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Karen Melton; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Rosezetta Page and Mazil Lawrence; brother, Aris (Geraldine) Ritchey; sister-in-law, Agnes Byrd of McMinnville and two brothers-in-law, Horace and Cleburn Melton both of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007 in High's Chapel with Jim Short officiating. Burial followed in the Blues Hill Cemetery.
