Sidney Eddy Smokey POWERS

Louisville, KY resident and Van Buren County, TN native Sidney "Eddy" "Smokey" Powers, age 73, was born January 6, 1934 and died June 4, 2007 at South West Hospital in Louisville, KY. A retired employee of Louisville Cooperage Co. and owner/operator of an ice cream truck, he was the son of the late Hubert and Clara Mai Driver Powers. He was a member of the 4th Street Church of God in Louisville, KY. He was married to Virgiline Powers of Louisville, KY. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Stanley Powers and one daughter, Pam Stevens both of Louisville, KY; three brothers, Carl Powers of the Rocky River Community, Lloyd Powers of Spencer, TN and Joe Powers of McMinnville; three sisters, Bettye Rowland and Molly Minton both of McMinnville and Mary Davis of Murfreesboro, TN; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 in High's Chapel with Keith Stevens officiating. Burial followed in the White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
