Campaign Community resident and Van Buren County, TN native James Elbert Rutledge, age 81, was born April 8, 1925 and died February 19, 2007 at NHC Healthcare following an extended illness. A supervisor at Burroughs Ross Colville, a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Pine Bluff Community Church, he was the son of the late James Newton and Molly Cummings Rutledge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special mom, Mattie Lou Rogers Rutledge; son, Mony Darnea Rutledge and sister, Thelma Breedlove. He was married to Charity Pearl Bouldin Rutledge of the Campaign Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Sidney Wayne and Frances Rutledge of McMinnville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Tim Davis and Cynthia and Ronnie McCormick of Rock Island, TN; seven grandchildren and thirteen grandchildren; brother, Everett Hugh Rutledge of Eufala, AL and two sisters, Emogene Magness of Rock Island, TN and Betty Grissom of Pulaski, TN. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in High's Chapel with Everett Wilson and Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
