McMinnville resident and Warren County native Rosie Lee Hale Simmons, age 85, was born September 3, 1921 and died July 4, 2007 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A homemaker and a member of the Campaign Church of God of Prophecy, she was the daughter of the late Arvill Taylor and Nancy Ella Johnson Hale. She was married first to Claude Norrod, second to Rayburn Thompson, and third to Johnnie Simmons all of whom preceded her in death. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Author, Ed and Cooper Hale and sister, Karon Scarlett. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Oma Norrod of McMinnville and Larry and Phyllis Norrod of McMinnville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Buddy Jones and Paula and David Rogers, Jr. both of McMinnville; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister, Agatha Lawrence of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, A.T. and Helen Hale, Jr. of Campaign, TN; sister-in-law, Ruth Hale of McMinnville; three step-sons, four step-daughters and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 in High's Chapel with Vernon Caruthers and Danny Hale officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
