Harley Reed SMITH

Morrison, TN resident and Gunter, TN native Harley Reed Smith, age 75, was born October 15, 1931 and died September 12, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired steam plant operator at AEDC, a United States Air Force veteran of Korea and a member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge #381, he attended the Morrison United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Ambers Reed and Frona Pearl York Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Laura Casteel and sister, Joyce Booher. He was married March 2, 1952 to Lois Johnson Smith of Morrison, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and John Harney of Murfreesboro, TN and Pam and David Tant and Penny and Gary Casteel of Ashland City, TN; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jaclyn Harney and Chad Williams, Justin Harney, Amy and Joey Lavender, Emma and Charley Chaney and Clint and Ben Casteel; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Donald W. and Virginia Smith of Murfreesboro, TN. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions may be made to the or Morrison United Methodist Church.
