Morrison, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Vera Velma Argo Starkey, age 89, was born June 1, 1917 and died March 24, 2007 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A school bus driver with the Warren County School System and a member of the West End Avenue Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Murray Bedford and Mary Maude Hobbs Argo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse, Herman, and Luke Argo and sister, Irene Argo. She was married to Henry Starkey of Morrison, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Eddie Cantrell of Rock Island, TN and Khyva and Clifford Starkey of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Rick (Faye) Stacy of Winchester, TN, Dondi (Geno) Volz of Orlando, FL, Lt. Col. Sean (Tamara) Curtis of Cannon AFB, New Mexico, Maj. Shane (Debbie) Curtis of Ft. Hood, TX, Derrick Starkey of McMinnville and Dondi Starkey of Tryon, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Ricky Lynn Stacy, Ian and Alex Cathcart, McKenna and Mariah Curtis and Jack, Max, and Paul Curtis and two sisters, Lucille Lusk and Sylvia Kelley both of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 in High's Chapel with Bob Deason officiating. Burial followed in the Hebron Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the or .
