McMinnville resident and Warren County native Janie Carolyn Adams Tanner, age 61, was born July 6, 1946 and died September 7, 2007 at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, TN. A homemaker, a former Warren County Commissioner and a member of the Shining Light Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Albert Neal of McMinnville and the late Mary Etta Bates Neal. She was married first to Ben Adams who preceded her in death in 1998. In addition to her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Wayne Neal. She was married second to Frankie Tanner of McMinnville who survives. In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Jennifer Duncan of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Sawyer and Taylor Duncan of Atlanta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Betty Neal of McMinnville; special friend, Emma Lee Walls; step-children, Tommie Rose and Emily Ann Tanner both of Sparta, TN and Bennie Adams of McMinnville; step-grandchildren, Misty and Brandy Jennings and Cheryl Smith all of McMinnville, nine step-great-grandchildren and nephew and his wife, Jaycen and Stephanie Neal of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 in High's Chapel with George Roberts officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Cannon County, TN.
