Wilma Jean Martin WARD

Morrison, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Wilma Jean Martin Ward, age 80, was born October 13, 1926 and died July 7, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Louise Hillis Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Marie Christian. She was married to Thurman Paul Ward of the Smartt Station Community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by eight sons and daughters-in-law, Paul E. and Janice Ward of Smithville, TN, Kenneth L. and Audrey Ward of Rock Island, TN, David G. and Reda Ward of McMinnville, Murrell Ward of Pikeville, TN, Michael A. and Janice Ward of Smithville, TN, Thurman Lynn and Laurie Ward of Pikeville, TN, James Ray Ward of Holiday, FL and Timothy A. Ward of Rock Island, TN; three daughters and sons-in-law, Martha J. and Kenneth Braswell of Carthage, TN, Brenda L. and Ricky Henderson of Rock Island, TN and Linda J. and Tommy Thompson of Rock Island, TN; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Winona Ward and Juanita Oliver both of McMinnville and one half brother, James Martin of Kansas. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at McMinnville Independent Baptist Church with Ray Skyles and Johnny Haston officiating. Burial followed in the Eureka Cemetery.
