Sarah Jane Katherine WHITMAN

Beersheba Springs, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Sarah Jane Katherine Whitman, age 87, was born January 20, 1920 and died August 3, 2007 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired nursery worker and member of the Cumberland Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Terrell and Fannie Caldwell Anderson. She was married to Lecil Roscoe Whitman who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Roscoe Whitman; grandson, Homer "Honky" Fults and brother, "Little Joe" Anderson. She is survived by three sons, Johnny Whitman of Beersheba Springs, TN, Jimmy Whitman of McMinnville and Danny Whitman of Smithville, TN; three daughters, Edith Fults of McMinnville and Almedia Fults and Gloria Jean Fults both of Beersheba Springs, TN; twenty-three grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the Cumberland Baptist Church in Beersheba Springs, TN with Alton Scruggs officiating. Burial followed in the Altamont Cemetery.
