Darwin Asa WOODEN

Spencer, TN resident and Charlevoix, MI native Darwin Asa Wooden, age 93, was born February 27, 1914 and died November 19, 2007 at White County Community Hospital in Sparta, TN following an extended illness. A retired truck driver and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Spencer, TN, he was the son of the late Arthur and Maude Calkins Wooden. He was married to Bernice Viola Dent Wooden who preceded him in death August 23, 2000. He is survived by one son, Darwin Wooden of Apison, TN; daughter, Viola Cook of Spencer, TN; sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Spencer, TN with Eric Ellison officiating. Burial followed in the Shockley Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
