Carl Edward YATES

Rocky River Community resident and Van Buren County, TN native Carl Edward Yates, age 68, was born November 6, 1938 and died February 20, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A self-employed construction worker and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Will and Callie Watson Yates. He was married March 14, 1959 to Linda L. Bishop Yates of the Rocky River Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Venita and Roger Hosse of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carolyn Yates of Rock Island, TN; five grandchildren and their spouses, Tisha and Matt Cantrell, Jason Yates, Angie and Larry Hurst, April Kelly, and Crystal Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Shelby Alexis Spearman, Brayden Matthew Cantrell and Trevor Ryan Hurst; sister, Mary Wallene Holt of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 in High's Chapel with Dennis Deweese officiating. Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
