William Thomas Tommy BALLARD

McMinnville resident and Tipton County, TN native William Thomas "Tommy" Ballard, age 68, was born May 23, 1940 and died August 19, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A construction supervisor with Dikes Water Flow and member of McMinnville First Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Thomas Woodrow and Helene Marie Richardson Ballard. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star of Winchester, TN where he served as Past Worthy Patron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelia Ozment Ballard. He was married May 12, 2007 to JoAnn Leslie Ballard of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Allison Ballard of El Paso, TX; grandson, Christopher Ballard of El Paso, TX; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Don Pharris of Lebanon, TN and Jeanette and Doug Fryar of Estill Springs, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Wynette Ballard of McMinnville; step-son and his wife, Les and Sherry Trotman of McMinnville; six step-grandchildren, fourteen step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in High's Parlor with Bill Martin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Renovation Fund.
