Wilda Airbella BESS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Wilda Airbella Bess, age 67, was born June 2, 1940 and died March 20, 2008 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Benjamin and Martha Emma Killian Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and brother-in-law, Noma Mae and L.B. Pease and Cairlean Bess Brady and three brothers, Boog, Odous and T.L. Scott. She was married to Earl Bess of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Danny Polson and Diane and Ruble Price both of McMinnville and Sherrie and Calvin Hammond of Rock Island, TN; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia McBride of Cookeville, TN; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Livy Scott of Beersheba Springs, TN, Abidine and Rachel Scott of Altamont, TN, Randy and Virginia Scott of Tracy City, TN, Osban and Jean Scott and H.B. and Joyce Scott both of McMinnville and Priceford Scott of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces and nephews and special sister, Tommy Sue Nunley of Grundy County, TN. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 in High's Chapel with Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN.
