Quim Cantrell BRYANT

March 4, 1911 — August 26, 2008

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Quim Cantrell Bryant, age 97 was born March 4, 1911 and died August 26, 2008 at Boulevard Terrace Rehab and Nursing Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a lingering illness. A furniture salesman and appliance repairman and member of McMinnville First Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Frank and Luella Banks Bryant. He was married December 18, 1934 to Kathryne Irene Felty Bryant who preceded him in death January 27, 2005. Mr. Bryant was a starting member of the Masonic Lodge # 125, F.&A.M. and the McMinnville Lion's Club. His happiest moments were spent at the Warren County Fair, frying hamburgers and hot dogs at the Lion's Club Booth. Quim loved Warren County and McMinnville. He lived here most of his life. He thought Warren County was the greatest place in all of God's world. Mr. Bryant was a walking historian. He remembered the first car he saw, the first telephone and the first airplane. He remembered his uncles going off to WWI. They deployed to France, one returned, the other did not. The Bryant family would like to thank the First Baptist Church,. Riverview Terrace, Barr's Furniture, Snuffy, The Chicken Chef Gang, The McMinnville Lion's Club, The Masonic Lodge and all the people who made his life so wonderful. He is survived by one daughter, Susan Cantrell of Murfreesboro, TN; three loving and devoted granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Anna Iverson of Brentwood, TN, Marie and Jeff Crowley of Spring Hill, TN and Leah and Derrick Cathey of Murfreesboro, TN; three great-grandchildren, Garrison Crowley and Kaityln and Dylan Cathey; sister, Effie Lee Bryant of McMinnville and best friend, Whitson "Snuffy" Burton of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 with Bill Zechman officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery where Masonic Graveside Rites were conducted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Middle Tennessee Lions Sight Service.
