Lewis CANTRELL

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Lewis Cantrell, age 82, was born March 14, 1926 and died October 3, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. The owner of Rock Island Nursery, he was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Church of Christ. He was the son of the late Jim and Zinnie Martin Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; brothers, Keffer and Rayburn Cantrell and sister, Emma Mullican. He was married to Juanita Walker Cantrell of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Danny Lewis and Kathy Cantrell of Rock Island, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Carolyn and Wayne Ellis of Seymour, TN; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Preston Cantrell of Warren County and Leonard Cantrell of Ozark, AL; two sisters, Christine Womack of Dalton, GA and Willie C. Tittsworth of Scottsdale, AZ and special daughter, Donna Sullivan Cantrell of Van Buren County, TN. Funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 in High's Chapel with Comer Mullican officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
