Herman CHRISTIAN

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Herman Christian, age 80, was born April 6, 1928 and died June 9, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a one-year illness. A machine operator at Findlay, a United States Army veteran and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Oscar and Della Pearl Taylor Christian. He was married to Josie Juanita Rice Christian who preceded him in death June 23, 1996. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Thurman Christian and sisters, Ella Lee Hillard and Lucille Cantrell. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kaye and Darrell Pendlum of McMinnville and Sherry and Chester Chandler of Bone Cave, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Tommie Christian of Murfreesboro, TN; seven grandchildren, Shelley Christian and Nick Christian and his wife, Lauren both of Murfreesboro, TN, Kerry Chandler and his wife, Melissa of Cookeville, TN, Loranda Chandler and Clint Chandler both of Bone Cave, TN, Monte Mason and his wife, Kristy of Rock Island, TN and Devin Mason of McMinnville; great-grandchildren, Hannah Mason, Megan Mason and Kylie Mason and two sisters, Daisy Seals of Bledsoe County, TN and Dorothy Jean Mullican of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008 in High's Chapel with Billy Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Hills Creek Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
