Sumner Dews COLVARD

McMinnville resident and Davidson County native Sumner Dews Colvard, age 96, was born January 31, 1912 and died October 26 ,2008 following an extended illness. A secretary at Tennessee Power Company and a member of the First United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Terrell and Medora West Dews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Barrett Colvard, Sr. and son, Joseph Barrett Colvard, Jr. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Frank Moore of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Diane and Harry DeBoard of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Matthew Terrell and Penny Bost Colvard of Iraq, Sumner Amelia Moore of Nashville, TN, Rebecca Barrett Moore of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Ella and Claire Colvard. A graveside service and interment was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Mt. View Cemetery with Bob Case officiating.
