Nina Adelaide DEATON

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Nina Adelaide Deaton, age 83, was born January 26, 1925 and died November 13, 2008 at White County Community Hospital in Sparta, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of the McMinnville Garment Co. and a member of Friendship the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Ethel Cole Yates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Yates. She is survived by one son, Allen Deaton of Rock Island, TN; one grandson, Seth Deaton of Rock Island, TN; one granddaughter, Karaline Deaton of Rock Island, TN; one sister, Janiette Yates Deaton of Rock Island, TN; one niece, Doris Dryden of Murfreesboro, TN; two great-nephews, Matt Dryden of Smyrna, TN and Jason Dryden of Murfreesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008 in High's Chapel with Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial followed in the McElroy Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
