Jacob EVANS

October 12, 1929 — August 22, 2008

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Jacob Evans, age 78, was born October 12, 1929 and died August 22, 2008 at Alive Hospice in Nashville following an extended illness. The owner of McMinnville Freight Lines and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Pauline Gertrude McGregor Evans Cowell and Avery Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Arthur Evans and sister Eva Sims. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sara Moore Evans, of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Joy Evans of McMinnville; three grandchildren and spouses, Kristie and John Eads of Lexington, KY; Julie and John LaForte and Jenifer Evans of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Eads of Lexington, KY; and Hallie LaForte of McMinnville; one sister, Carmen Martin of Indianapolis, IN; one half-brother, Douglas Cowell of Florida; two caregivers, Carol Hollandsworth and Shawn Huff. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2008 in High's Chapel with Carl Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
