Elbert Ray FISHER

March 9, 1924 — November 10, 2008

Smithville, TN resident and Warren County native Elbert Ray Fisher, age 84, was born March 9, 1924 and died November 10, 2008 at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Stoneman and Warren County Sanitation Department and a member of the Church of God, he was the son of the late Albert and Willie Hutchins Fisher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Janie Elizabeth Fuqua; son-in-law, Charles Fuqua; grandson, Benjamin Dove and sister, Wilma Stevens. He was married March 9, 1944 to Naomi Breedlove Fisher of Smithville, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Stanley Fults and Patricia and Freddy Wright both of Rock Island, TN; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-granchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Paul Rigsby of Indiana, Fred Rigsby and Earl Rigsby both of Rock Island, TN, Bobby Rigsby of McMinnville, TN and Ted Rigsby of the Centertown Community and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2008 in High's Chapel with Jeff Lea officiating. Burial followed in the Old Bybee Cemetery.
