Thomas Don FOSTER

November 13, 1925 — April 28, 2008

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Thomas Don Foster, age 82, was born November 13, 1925 and died April 28, 2008 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired school teacher with the Warren County School System and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Arthur Roscoe and Hassie Reeder Foster. Mr. Foster was also a farmer and a friend to many. He was a Life Member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. He served on the VFW Post 5064 Honor Guard and volunteered at the Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII and received the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's Badge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Roy Foster and sister, Minnie Medley. He was married June 6, 1947 to Christine Sullivan Foster of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kay Foster of McMinnville; two grandsons, Craig Foster and his wife, Carla of McMinnville and Chad Foster and his wife Mica of Hood River, OR; granddaughter, Robin Bell and her husband, Dale of Rock Island, TN; great-grandchildren, Daulton and Danielle Foster and Samantha and Kaleb Bell; several nieces, nephews and many friends. A private graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Foster Cemetery with Julian Goodpasture officiating. Full military honors were administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
