Alda Adell HAMILTON

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Alda Adell Hamilton, age 85, was born May 5, 1923 and died December 12, 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Brittanne Smartt Savage. She was married to William Hamilton who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerrell and Waymon Hamilton. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Cyffie and Milo Hobbs and Carolyn and Dennis Flanigan both of McMinnville, Betty and Ray Arredondo of Cataula, GA and Ellene and Charlie Gailbreath of White House, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Hamilton of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hamilton of McMinnville; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Alan and Stacie Hobbs, Cory and Andrea Hobbs and Jeremy Hamilton all of McMinnville, Matthew and Amanda Gailbreath of White House, TN, Jan and Kevin Kennington of Midland, GA, Jeffrey and Stacy Arredondo of Fayetteville, NC and Chris Flanigan of Auburn, ME and three great-grandchildren, Carter Kennington, Blayton Hobbs and LaiLah Arredondo. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008 in High's Chapel with Bob Deason officiating. Burial followed in the Armstrong Cemetery.
