Beta Mae Jordan HARRIS

Columbia, TN resident and Warren County native Beta Mae Jordan Harris, age 88, was born April 4, 1919 and died March 14, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN following an extended illness. A retired food service manager with Tullahoma City Schools, a homemaker, and a member of the West Seventh Street Church of Christ in Columbia, TN, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Gladys Elizabeth Lively Jordan. She was married to Clarence Thomas Harris who preceded her in death May 14, 1984. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Jordan Newby and two brothers, Harold Lively Jordan and Robert Kelton Jordan. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Reeder Martin of Bowling Green, KY and Nancy and Gynn Rice of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, James Martin of Dyersburg, TN and Lee and Zack Rice of Columbia, TN; great-grandson, Jordan Martin of Dyersburg, TN; nieces and nephews, Jackie Newby, Becky and Doug Bost, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jordan, Mary Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Newby, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Newby and Kelton Jordan; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
