Ernest Gray HIGGINS

Morrison, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native Ernest Gray Higgins, age 84, was born September 17, 1924 and died December 26, 2008 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A farmer and livestock dealer and a member of the Ivy Bluff Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Robert France and Georgia Lee Melton Higgins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Shirley and Murf Higgins. He is survived by his wife, Frances Higgins of the Ivy Bluff Community; three children and their spouses, Wanda and Charles Gann of Morrison, TN, Wayne and Sally Higgins of Park City, UT and Beverly and Larry Garrett of Morrison, TN; three grandchildren and their spouses, Laurie and Kevin Mingle of McMinnville, Randy and Heather Davis of Memphis, TN and Holly and Keith Bain of Morrison, TN; four great-grandchildren, Conner Grey, Peyton Davis and Morgan and Allison Mingle; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Jimmy Tate, Ora Rains, Linda and Johnny Moore, and Jackie Higgins all of Woodbury, TN. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2008 in High's Chapel with Kenneth Mears officiating. Burial followed in the Ivy Bluff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lunch With Love Program @ Ivy Bluff Church of Christ, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital or the Phil Hyatt Scholarship Fund.
