Dorothy Juell Hale JOHNSON

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Dorothy Juell Hale Johnson, age 76, was born July 2, 1932 and died September 4, 2008 at Skyline Medical Center following a five-month illness. A machine operator for Lion Apparel and a member of First Assembly of God, she was the daughter of the late James and Leona Burgess Hale. She was married to Thomas Howard Johnson, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Roberts and Lorella Knasier; and two brothers, Jimmy Hale, Jr. and Gene Hale. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Johnson of Rock Island, TN and Elizabeth and Glenn Lancaster of Madison, TN; two sons, William Russell Johnson and Thomas Wayne Johnson, both of Rock Island, TN; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alma Lee Holder of Centertown, Shirley McQuery of California and Edith Thompson of McMinnville, TN; two brothers, Tom Hale of California and Robert Hale of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008 in High's Chapel with Sammy Lee and Gerald Bennett officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery.
