Elizabeth Martha Byars JOHNSON

McMinnville resident and Rock Island, TN native Elizabeth Martha Byars Johnson, age 70, was born February 25, 1938 and died August 31, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness. A seamstress and a member of the Way of the Cross Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Asa and Ella Mae Hutchins Byars. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, Billy Joe Johnson and brother, Ed Byars; She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Joe Caldwell of McMinnville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Hattie and J. E. Slaughter of McMinnville; Reva Jo Byars of Murfreesboro, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Helen Byars of McMinnville; one granddaughter, Sabrina Caldwell of McMinnville; one sister-in-law, Edrie Byars of McMinnville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in High's Chapel with Ray Skyles officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery.
