McMinnville resident and St. Louis, MO native Marty Klasek, age 57, was born December 21, 1950 and died February 25, 2008 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. A self-employed consulting engineer and a member of First Baptist Church and St. Catherine's Catholic Church, he was the son of Herbert A. and Frances Harness Klasek of McMinnville. He was the former owner and operator of KMI from 1978 to 1983 where he shipped electronics and parts all over the world. He was married August 10, 1985 to Kathy Klasek of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Elizabeth "Beth" Klasek-Cox and Richard Cox of Maryville, TN; son, Andrew Stephen "Andy" Klasek of McMinnville; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Sherry and Greg Pennington of McMinnville; grandson, Jake Pennington and granddaughter, Katy Pennington both of McMinnville; brother, Rev. Stephen A. Klasek of Donelson, TN; two sisters and brother-in-law, Theresa Glover and Susan and Allan Mosler both of Mt. Vernon, IL; three nieces and their spouses, Elizabeth "Libby" Glover of New York City, NY, Katie and Scott Schroeder of Tampeco, IL and Sarah Heston of Chicago, IL and two nephews, Matthew and his wife Michelle Mosler of Italy and Michael Mosler of Mt. Vernon, IL. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 in High's Chapel with Rev. Stephen A. Klasek and Dalton Fletcher officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery. A rosary service was led by Father Jim Bretl at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in High's Parlors. Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
