Carolyn Ruth Poss MATHIS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Carolyn Ruth Poss Mathis, age 61, was born September 27, 1946 and died May 18, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A homemaker and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Arnold Dodson of McMinnville and the late Lorena Johnson Dodson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by on son, David Poss and brother, Carl Dodson. She was married September 10, 1998 to Robert J. Mathis of McMinnville. In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by two daughters, Brenda Patrick of McMinnville and Briget Poss of Murfreesboro, TN; grandson, Jason Leon Patrick of McMinnville; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Logan Patrick of McMinnville; brother, Clifton Dodson of McMinnville; two step-daughters, Ruby Leann and Mildred Bell both of Michigan; two step-sons, Bobby Mathis, Jr. and Larry Wayne Mathis both of Michigan; nine step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in High's Chapel with Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery.
