McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Pearl Swindell Carter McCoy, age 81, was born May 8, 1927 and died November 22, 2008 at her residence following a one-year illness. A retired employee of Mallory Timers and member of the Walling Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Sarah Nelson Swindell. She was married to Donald Carter and George McCoy both of whom preceded her in death. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Yates; grandchildren, Amy Carter and Traci Boissonneault; brothers, Ralston, Edd and Floyd Swindell and sisters, Zula Swindell and Cleo Galloway. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Phillip and Treva Carter of Rock Island, TN, Dwight Carter of Walling, TN and Cindy Martin of McMinnville; son-in-law, Jerry Yates of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Jennifer Carter and Chad and Leslie Carter both of Rock Island, TN, Shannon and Joe Hale of Michigan, Kelly Carter of McMinnville, Robby and Linda Boissonneault of the Centertown Community, Amanda and Troy Gibson and Kevin Yates both of Fayetteville, TN; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Carter of Walling, TN; brother, Murrill Swindell of Ohio and step-daughter, Lennie Mae Savage of Doyle, TN. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 in High's Chapel with Bobby Cloyd officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in White County, TN.
