Barbara Ellen MUNSON

McMinnville resident and Northfield, NH native Barbara Ellen Munson, age 88, was born February 29, 1920 and died September 24, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a one-month illness. She was the executive secretary for the National Caves Association, a graduate of the University Of Tennessee Chattanooga, former oboist with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, Chattanooga Opera Association and many other bands. She was the daughter of the late Leon F. and Ellen Converse Cross. She was married to Leonard J. Munson, Jr. who preceded her in death August 8, 1979. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Gordon of Apopka, FL and Ellen and Garner McDonald of Albany, OR and granddaughter Heather Muller of Swartz Creek, MI. A graveside service and interment was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Mt. View Cemetery with Father Scott James officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the , the or .
