McMinnville resident and Warren County native Wilburn Lindon Norrod, age 81, was born November 29, 1926 and died September 23, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. The owner of Norrod's Garage for fifty-one years, a Tennessee Army National Guard veteran and member of the East End Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Lloyd Everett and Minnie Gibbs Norrod. Mr. Norrod was a long-time elder of the West Riverside Church of Christ and member of the Warren County Rescue Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Winfred Norrod. He was married to Dorothy Chambers Norrod of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Norrod of Mt. Juliet, TN and Bradley Steven Norrod of McMinnville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ina Catherine and Ed Hennessee of Murfreesboro, TN and Virginia "Jenny" and John Endicott of Marietta, GA and two grandsons, Lindon Chastain of Murfreesboro, TN and Jack Endicott of Marietta, GA. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008 in High's Chapel with Vernon Joines, James Boyd and Garland Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
