Helen Brown O'KAIN

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Helen Brown O'Kain, age 66, was born August 29, 1941 and died January 1, 2008 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A piano teacher and a member of the Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Winton and Marietta Couch Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Louise Brown; brother, Jack Elkin Brown and brother-in-law, Larry Gross. She was married November 14, 1959 to Larry O'Kain of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Johnny O'Kain of Nashville, TN; sister, Judy Gross of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Donald O'Kain of Florence, AL; three nephews, Chris Gross and Jason (Kristine) Gross both of McMinnville and Mike O'Kain of Birmingham, AL and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 in High's Chapel with Nestor Stewart, Titus Ward and Tim Parish officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
