Mary Evelyn PERRY

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mary Evelyn Perry, age 74, was born June 9, 1934 and died October 1, 2008 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lawson and Rhoda Delia Clara Lytle Perry. Ms. Perry was the oldest living person with down syndrome in the United States. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, James E. and Robert L. Perry, Jr. and four sisters, Willie H. Pepper, Athelia P. Weddington, Ruth Simo and Hassie L. King. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy J. McCormick of McMinnville; thirty-two nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 in High's Chapel with Dale Perry officiating. Burial followed in the Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek.
