John James PRIEST

McMinnville resident and Doyle, TN native John James Priest, age 92, was born October 2, 1916 and died October 6, 2008 at Rive Park Hospital following an extended illness. A self-employed landscaper and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Larkin and Nancy George Priest. He was married August 24, 1940 to Mary Maggie Priest who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Quitman and Henry Priest and two sisters, Mary and Sarah Priest. He is survived by five daughters, Alene Duggin Priest, Barbara Taylor, Brenda Brymer and Linda Gail Granados all of McMinnville and Thelma Lucille Tanner of Jacksboro, TN; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and special cousins, Lloyd George and Christine George. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 in High's Chapel with Carson Rust officiating. Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
