Lucille Algerlee RAINS

McMinnville resident and Coffee County, TN native Lucille Algerlee Rains, age 88, was born January 29, 1920 and died February 24, 2008 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. The retired owner of Brown's Grocery and a member of the Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Jefferson and Beulah Tennessee Wright Brown. She was married to Frank Reed who preceded her in death in 1976 and later married Sterling Rains who preceded her in death in 1987. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Verna Sanders and Geneva Anderson and two brothers, William Andrew Brown and Donald Brown. She is survived by one daughter, Jean Smith of McMinnville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Dale and Ann Smith and Geraldine and Howard Mathis both of McMinnville; great granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Jeff Stepp of McMinnville; two great-great-grandsons, Cameron and Dylan Stepp of McMinnville; two sisters, Allie Shoults and Ruth Sorells both of Bedford, IN; two step-sons, Sterling Eugene Rains and Pat Rains both of McMinnville; step-grandson and his wife, Greg and Carol Rains of McMinnville; several other step-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in High's Chapel with Tim Parish officiating. Burial followed in the Manchester City Cemetery.
