Lawrenceville, GA resident (formerly of McMinnville) and Warren County native Hester "Mae" Riner, age 90, was born April 13, 1918 and died November 23, 2008. A member of the Mt. Leo Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Zollie Lee and Ella Belle Cantrell Tittsworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Lou Greene and three brothers, Willie A., Ray and Benton Tittsworth. She attended Centertown High School and married Calvin Eugene "Gene" Riner on June 13, 1937 under a big oak tree in Morrison, TN. They were married 67 years when he died September 5, 2004. She was a loving mother and faithful wife and worked as a hairdresser until she was 70 years of age. She was a woman of strong faith and she spent her life serving others through her church, community and family. Mae and Gene had moved to Lawrenceville, GA before his death to be with their daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Jim Cole. In addition, she is survived by two grandsons, Jeremy Cole and wife, Christine and Joshua Cole both of Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Barbara Tittsworth of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in High's Chapel with Bo Davenport and Lane Dix officiating. Burial followed in the Centertown Cemetery.
