McMinnville resident and Warren County native Laura Kathryn Sain, age 85, was born August 27, 1922 and died February 4, 2008 at River Park Hospital following a short illness. A retired clerk at King's Department Store and a member of the Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Ransom Gwyn and Nancy Elizabeth McVey Martin, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lila Hancock, Wilma Beam and Hortense Simmons; infant sister, Mary Sue Martin and brothers, Hugh and Carson Martin. She was married to Wesley Sain of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John T. Mason, III of Cookeville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Norman Wesley and Barbara Gaw Sain of McMinnville; three grandsons, John T. Mason, IV of Nashville, TN and Zachary B. and Hunter W. Sain both of McMinnville; two granddaughters, Malissa Mason Maxwell of Cincinnati, OH and Ashli Sain Komistek of Knoxville, TN; nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Hattie Lou Wood of Woodbury, TN and two brothers, R.G. Martin, Jr. of McMinnville and George Grey Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 in High's Chapel with Nestor Stewart and Tim Parish officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
