Osban SCOTT

McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Osban Scott, age 83, was born November 5, 1924 and died October 18, 2008 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired nurseryman and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Killian Scott. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, T. L., Everett and Otis Scott and sisters, Noma Pease, Caroline Brady and Wilda Bess. He is survived by his wife, Edith Scott of McMinnville; three sons and daughter-in-law, Marlin and Shelia Scott, Steve Scott and John Scott all of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Jacob, Jeanann, Emily, LoriBeth and Katy Scott; one great-grandchild, Caden Scott; five brothers and sisters-in-law, H. B. and Joyce Scott of McMinnville, Priceford Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Livey Scott of Beersheba Springs, TN, Abedine and Rachel Scott of Beersheba Springs, TN and Randal Scott of Grundy County, TN; one sister, Georgia McBride of Cookeville, TN; one sister-in-law, Wilma Smartt of McMinnville and one aunt, Estelle Roberts of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 in High's Chapel with Glyn Killian officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.
