James Milton SMARTT

Mt. Juliet, TN resident and Warren County native James Milton Smartt, age 61, was born October 7, 1947 and died October 24, 2008 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a four-month illness. A maintenance supervisor at Genesco and United States Army veteran of Vietnam, he was the son of Dorothy Louise McMahon of Mt. Juliet, TN and the late Emmery Lee Smartt. He was married to Pamela Jean Corbin Smartt of Mt. Juliet, TN. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, James Allen Smartt of Nashville, TN and Troy Clayton Smartt of Lebanon, TN; two grandchildren, Alicen Lawrence and Lena Smartt; two sisters, Emma Walls of Mt. Juliet, TN and Loma Dugan of Kingston Springs, TN and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2008 at Mt. View Cemetery with Kenny Laster officiating. Full military honors were administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
