Arrie Mae SMITH

McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Arrie Mae Smith, age 96, was born January 3, 1912 and died July 6, 2008 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a lingering illness. A retired school teacher with the White County and Warren County, TN School Systems, and a member of the Warren County Retired Teacher's Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George Hawkins and Martha Josephine Moore Templeton. She was married to Malcolm Garrett Smith who preceded her in death December 14, 1985. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Garrett Smith Swanson of Clarksville, TN; son, Charles H. Smith of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Laurie Lea Swanson of Brentwood, TN and Martha Minchey of Nashville, TN; great-granddaughter, Grace Minchey of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Hazel Smith Julian of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in High's Chapel with Tim Parrish officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
