Daniel Dan SMITH

McMinnville resident and Giles County, TN native Daniel "Dan" Smith, age 65, was born February 22, 1943 and died August 16, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of APAC and a member of St. Paul Agnew Baptist Church in Pulaski, TN, he was the son of the late William James and Etha Marie Wilson Smith. He was married to Mary Lucille Carr Smith of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Jennifer Smith and Paul Smith both of McMinnville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Fernicha and Nelson Akins, Angela and Alvaro Ramirez, Felicia Smith and Erica and Juan Chavez all of McMinnville; fourteen grandchildren, Orenthea, Markee, Okajea, Osheonna, Katlyn, Oshavonna, Omykale, Jauan, Alexis, Odaysha, Onuria, I'damiya, O'shakiya and Ashley and two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Anastasia all of McMinnville; ten sisters, Annie Will Bryant, Mammie Willingham, Mary McDade, Inez (Melvin) Houston, Virginia Smith, Betty (John) Conner, Peggy (Robert) Howard and Helen Coleman all of Pulaski, TN, Amy (Bobby) Wright of Louisville, KY and Cappi Gilbert of Harvest, IL; two brothers, James and Robert Smith both of Pulaski; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends, Tommy Woods, Clyde Fults and Randall, Stevens. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008 at Northside Baptist Church with Alan J. Holleman officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Agnew Cemetery in Pulaski, TN.
