Ester Mae SPARKMAN

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Ester Mae Sparkman, age 85, was born March 3, 1923 and died September 13, 2008 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A bus driver with Warren County School System and UCHRA and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Jodie and Lenora Bouldin Roberts. She was married April 8, 1939 to Walmas Mack Sparkman who preceded her in death September 30, 2008. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Esaline Roberts and two brothers, J.R. and Don Roberts. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Tyrone and Treva Sparkman and Mack Allen Sparkman both of McMinnville; daughter, Judy Sparkman of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren and six great-granchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Dot Panter and Melba and Jimmy Pistole both of McMinnville, Bobbie and Jack Kittle of St. Cloud, FL and Evelyn Bowling of Fairport Harbor, OH; brother and sister-in-law, David and Joan Roberts of McMinnville and sister-in-law, Darlene Roberts of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2008 in High's Chapel with Donald Owens officiating. Burial followed in the New Union Cemetery.
