McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gladys Terry, age 88, was born February 16, 1920 and died October 22, 2008 at St. Thomas Medical Center in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A housekeeper and member of East End Drive Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Allie Brown. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by husband, Nathaniel Terry; two grandchildren, Tony Brown and Deanna Grayson; sister, Josephine Donahue; brother, Richmond Brown and daughters, Brenda Joyce King and Sue Carol Thomas. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and Fred Savage, Patricia Dillard and Denise Grayson all of McMinnville, Maxine and Jerry Braxton of Chattanooga, TN, and Teresa Blakely of Knoxville, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Hobert and Jo Ann Brown of Wichita, KS and Larry G. and Lisa Brown of McMinnville; thirty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and nineteen great-great-grandchildren; sister, Era Scruggs of Chattanooga, TN; dear friends, Ossie Grayson, Randall Pleasant and Nelma Justin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2008 in High's Chapel with Phillip Smith, Jr. and Chris Whitaker officiating. Burial followed in Gardens of Memory.
