John THOMAS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native John Thomas, age 93, was born November 11, 1914 and died April 17, 2008 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A retired custodian at City Bank and Trust Company and a member of the East End Drive Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Hence and Endia Cope Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Sadie Thomas, Otsie Ramsey, Maybelle Easley, Annie Harris, Callie Billingsley and Shula Smith and two brothers, George and Albert Thomas. He is survived by three special nephews, Frank, Kenneth and Floyd Smith all of McMinnville; special niece, Louise Lusk of McMinnville; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at East End Drive Church of Christ with Bro. Phillip Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery.
